What is your experience?

I'm Amena, an educator with over 15 years of experience, committed to helping students reach their full potential.

With a strong track record of guiding students to achieve top GCSE grades (including Grade 8s and 9s ). I’ve also supported A Level Biology students in securing A and A* grades. Many of my students have gone on to earn places at prestigious institutions, including Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities, as well as competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science.

As Deputy Head of Science for five years, I led Key Stage 4 Science within my department and was proud to receive the National Award for Middle Leadership from the SSAT – a recognition of my leadership and lasting impact on academic outcomes.

In addition to teaching, I serve as an examiner for both Edexcel and AQA in GCSE Science and A Level Biology. This experience gives me valuable insight into exam board expectations, allowing me to tailor my teaching to help students succeed with clarity and confidence.

My academic background includes a BSc in Biology, an MSc in Health and Society: Social Epidemiology, and a PGCE in Secondary Science from University College London. My commitment to innovative and high-impact teaching was recognised with the Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship for Excellence in 2012.
